Jairo-Mites,

Michelle Shelton’s article brought up some good points in her blog. Please check it out. I was inspired to publish something that is not a podcast plug.

Why does the WWE continue to use part-time wrestlers? Is the WWE short talented wrestlers? Is it because they have they have no stars?

WWE has plenty of talent on the main roster and NXT to put together a super card. Now can they increase subscriptions, ppv buys to increase advertising revenue? That is the million dollar question.

SummerSlam is in less than 5 weeks and the main event has already been announced. Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar. Two part timers.

Can Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins sell SummerSlam? Maybe, to the hardcore fan.

However, part-timers are brought in several reasons:

1) Increase ratings (increasing advertising)

2) Increase subscriptions on WWE Network

3) Increase interest from casual fans to hopefully turn them into full time fans again

4) Increase live gate and have events evolved around SummerSlam or WrestleMania

5) Produce and sell merchandise

No disrespect to Wyatt, Reigns, Rollins, Ambrose but WWE has not been pushed into mainstream status such as Austin, Hogan, Rock & Cena. Is it their fault as Michelle was talking about ? No. WWE is not behind Wyatt, Ambrose, Reigns, Rollins etc as they were with Hogan, Rock etc.

In the end, in my early podcasts, I talk about to make stars, you need stars.

What does that mean? It means to use Sting, Undertaker, The Rock to put over Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and hopefully have them as the best generation of main stars.

Do they take away a spot from a current superstar? Yes. However, long term. It benefits the organization and the roster.

In the end, WWE should use the establish stars to make stars Sooner rather than later.
