Hello, one and all and welcome back to WrestlingNewsWorld.com for our live coverage of Monday Night Raw!  Things lately have been surprisingly good, we will see tonight if the Shane McMahon era continues or if the Authority will cause it to come to a screeching halt.  I’m sure we’ve all missed those 20 minute long promos! MMM You can just taste the sarcasm there can’t you?

Question of the Week:  Is an all Booty-O’s cereal diet a good weight loss plan?  Just kidding.  Will we see Finn Balor tonight?

 

Shane McMahon is in charge again this week and he is kicking off Raw!

Shane-  Well I’m still here because of you guys!  WWE Payback is this Sunday and it’s the first PPV of a new era here in WWE.  Tonight I’d like to welcome everyone to Monday Night Raw!  What’s up Hartford!  We’re gonna keep the action rolling with new matches!  ~Stephanie McMahon’s music hits~

Steph- Did everyone hear Shane, he wants you all to have fun! Yuck! You think you can just pander to these people? This is Hartford, they are smart and tough!  I know because I’m one of them!  That’s right I was born right here!  These are my people!  And by listening to them I think they’re not naturally from here.

Shane- Boy you really know how to take the air outta the room.  That’s not surprising, I knew you or your husband would be rearing your important heads.

Steph- Important is the right word.  In fact I was on the phone all week with politicians with Hartford’s favorite daughter.  They wanted to give me a statue or a day or something.  I’m out here to tell you something important, this is your last night running Monday Night Raw.  This Sunday at Payback our father, Vincent Kennedy McMahon.  ~No chants~ will decide once and for all who is running Monday Night Raw. ~Shane O’Mac chants~

Shane- Obviously the Chairman’s decision is final, but allow me to run my own poll.  Those who want The Authority running Raw, let’s hear it for Stephanie ~Heavy boos~ Now for myself ~Heavy cheers~

Steph- Well thank goodness our father is smart enough not to listen to these people.

Shane- I’m here because of them, so obviously he’s listening.

Steph- In 6 days, I have it on good authority that things won’t go your way.

Shane- I think it’s time you go on your way.  So I would politely ask “Hartford’s favorite daughter” to head out of the ring.

Steph- I’m not going anywhere, I’m going to hang out right here in my ring.  Eat your heart out people.

Shane- Sunday, whatever the decision is, it is.  As for tonight, I’m still in charge so since you won’t politely leave…security please.  See Steph I’m going to ask you to leave OUR ring.

Security comes out and the fans chant “Na na na na hey hey hey goodbye” as she leaves.  One of the security guards touches her back and she smacks him hard.  The other guards grab her and haul her out as she screams.  Shane leads the fans in a heavier chant of “hey hey goodbye”

Shane- That was fun, let’s get into some action shall we!?  Let’s start with the #1 contender!  The phenomenal AJ Styles!

AJ Styles vs. Sheamus

Sheamus puts AJ in the corner and misses two right hands but hits an uppercut after AJ slid out.  Sheamus stomps Styles.  Big elbow from Sheamus to the face of AJ.  Uppercut from Sheamus.  Dropkick from AJ after bouncing around the ring a bit.  AJ puts Sheamus on the mat and kicks him in the back.  Sheamus gets up and hits a right hand to the midsection.  Uppercuts from Sheamus on Styles but AJ counters with some chops and forearms.  AJ puts Sheamus in the corner but Sheamus kicks AJ with both feet, a very strong kick.  Sheamus locks in a headlock and AJ fights out with elbows and then a forearm that knocks Sheamus out of the ring.  Styles reaches for Sheamus who punches him in the gut.  Styles kicks Sheamus in the knees knocking him off the apron.  Styles to the apron hits a running knee to the face.  AJ goes for the moonsault but Sheamus moves and AJ lands on his feet.  Sheamus runs up and grabs Styles, throwing him into the steel stairs.  AJ hits it with his knees and flips over it as we head to break.

We return and Sheamus hits an Irish Curse backbreaker, but doesn’t let go and hits it again! Sheamus throws AJ into the ropes and grabs him for a bear hug.  Styles breaks things up and goes to the top rope but gets knocked into a seated position.  Sheamus sets up for a White Noise from the top but AJ reverses it into a sunset flip powerbomb!  Forearm from Styles and a second and third.  Sheamus eats a bunch of chops and kicks.  Sheamus gets hit with a running forearm then splash in the corner!  AJ gets countered and Sheamus throws Styles face first into the middle buckle.  2 count for Sheamus.  Sheamus sets up the Texas Cloverleaf but AJ blocks it.  AJ with the Pele kick!  AJ stands up and hits Sheamus with a barage of forearms to the face.  Sheamus shoves AJ off him and knocks him down.  Sheamus locks in the Cloverleaf this time and AJ struggles to get to the ropes.  AJ manages to reach the ropes and break the hold.  Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick but misses and gets hung up on the ropes.  AJ knocks him backward and hit the Phenomenal Forearm for the win!

Winner: AJ Styles

Gallows and Anderson come out and applaud AJ.  AJ looks confused at the gesture.  Roman is watching backstage and the Usos join him.  They tell Roman they have his back, but he says they know what he’s going to say.  The Usos remind him 1 vs all sometimes gets help from family because that’s what family does.

 

AWWWW HARTFORD!  DON’T YOU DARE BE SOUR, FEEEEEL THE POWERRRRR!!!

Woods- The #1 contender tourament for the WWE Tag Team Championships that we started is off to a huge success.

Kofi- Of course the tourament started by BOOTY-OS!

All- They make sure you ain’t booty!

E- At Payback you will all respect the name of the new #1 Contenders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships

Woods- And you will all party like it’s 1999!

The Vaudvillians intertupt.

VV-Gentlemen, I believe you meant to say when WE become #1 Contender to the Tag Team Championships we are going to party like it’s 1899.  Because we represent a better era we plan on bringing back to WWE.  When we beat the idiots known as Enzo and Cass–*Enzo and Cass’ music cuts them off*

Enzo- My name is Enzo Amore and I am a certified G and a bonafied stud and you can’t teach that!  And this here is BIG CASS and he’s 7 feet tall and you can’t teach that!  Badaboom realist guys in the room!  How you doin!

VV- Great, tweedle dee and tweedle dumber have something to say.

Enzo- I’m gonna keep it 100 with you like a high fever.  The Vaudvillians want to be #1 contenders and I want to run down a beach into my own arms but that’s impossible.

Cass- There’s only 1 team walking out of Payback the #1 Contenders and that is going to be us.  Because there’s only 1 word to describe you and I’m going to spell it out for you S-A-W-F-T!  Soft!

Woods- Can you feel it?! You can cut the tension with a knife!  But in the end New Day will still be your Tag Team Chaaaampions!  Why?!

Big E- Because NEW DAY ROCKS!

Gallows and Anderson are shown leaving AJ’s locker room.

The Usos vs. Anderson & Gallows

Anderson and Jimmy start things off and Jimmy puts Anderson in the corner and chops him.  Jimmy with a spinning elbow and more chops.  Tag to Jey who hits a double team splash.  Chops from Jey.  Kick from Anderson and he puts Jey in the corner and tags Gallows.  Gallows catches Jey mid air but Jey slides out and kicks Gallows and tags his brother.  Double splashes.  Tag back to Jey.  Jey charges Gallows but Doc hits a clothesline that turns Jey inside out!  ~Bullet club chants~ Gallows stomps Jey down in the corner and tags his partner.  Anderson drops a knee to the face of Jey, then the shoulder.  Karl throws a shoulder submission on Jey.  Jey fights out but can’t make a tag before eating an elbow to the face.  Tag to Gallows who kicks Jey in the ribs.  Body shots in the corner from Doc.  Three huge elbow drops in a row to the shoulder of Jey from Gallows.  Tag to Karl who goes to the ringside to attack the head of Jey before getting in.  2 count.  Anderson locks in another submission on the shoulder of Jey Uso.  Tag to Gallows who hits more body shots.  Gallows blasts Jey in the back and then wraps up his shoulder.  Gallows puts Jey in a reverse seat on the top rope.  He tries to fight back and then stands up, but Gallows shoves Jey off the top sending him crashing to the floor below.  We head to commercial.

We return and Gallows is beating up Jey.  Jey gets a boot up and hits a missile dropkick from the second rope to creat space.  Both teams make tags!  Jimmy runs in and tags out both Anderson and Gallows.  Samoan drop to Karl!  Uso bump from Jimmy.  Anderson pops up and takes down Jimmy and Gallows on the outside throws Jey into the crowd.  Jimmy goes to check on his brother but gets taken out by both men.  Back in the ring they hit the magic killer for the win.

Winners: Gallows and Anderson

Anderson goes out and grabs Jey and pulls him back in from the crowd.  Jey is rolled back in the ring and Jimmy and Jey both get beat down hard but then Roman Reigns comes out and takes on Anderson and Gallows.  He forces them to retreat.  Roman checks on his cousins.

 

AJ is backstage with AJ Styles but Gallows and Anderson cut in.  They say that Roman picked the fight tonight, not them.  They are just there to have AJ’s back, they know AJ can beat Roman without their help.  They know that Roman and the Usos will do anything to keep the title on Roman, they just want to even the odds.  AJ says if that’s all, and Gallows remind him their friendship is forever.

 

Sami Zayn vs. Rusev w/ Lana!

Sami ducks and weaves to avoid a test of strength with Rusev.  Rusev beats Zayn into the corner and the kicks the body repeatedly.  Rusev with a knee to the gut but Sami with a spinning head scissor.  Sami with a headlock on Rusev.  Shoulder tackle by Rusev.  Sami sends Rusev over the top rope and leaps after him but gets caught.  Rusev slams Sami into the side of the ring face first.  Rusev whips Sami at the barricade but Sami leaps up and lands on the barricade and hits a moonsault!  Back in the ring, Rusev hits a spinning heel kick to take down Sami.  Sami gets on the top turnbuckle but Rusev hits a kick to the side of the head of Zayn who crashes to the floor as we head to break.

We return and Rusev is in control with a headlock.  Rusev picks Zayn up and throws him across the ring.  Rusev runs at Zayn but he counters with a clothesline and then tons of forearms.  Sami reverses a press into a crossbody!  Sami to the top rope and hits a huge crossbody!  Rusev with a big fallaway slam.  Sami goes for the running arm drag but it’s countered into a HUGE Superkick.  2 count only, though!  Rusev signals the Accolade.  Sami slides through and rolls up Rusev!

Winner: Sami Zayn

After the match Lana is furious and throws her heels at Zayn but he laughes as he heads up the ramp.  Kevin Owens runs out and blasts Sami from behind.

 

Backstage Renee is with Apollo Crews.  She asks him about standing out against other NXT superstars who recently debuted.  Stardust interupts and Apollo says he is so honored to wrestle the son of the great Dusty Rhodes, who helped him so much.  Stardust tells him not even the great Dusty Rhodes could make Apollo a star.

Apollo Crews vs. Stardust

Quick lock up and Apollo hits some quick flips and a dropkick.  Stardust fights out of a suplex and hits a swinging neckbreaker.  Stardust beats down Apollo and takes his gloves off to punch Crews.  Knee to the gut of Crews and a snapmare takedown.  Stardust wraps up Apollo’s arm in a submission but he fights out.  Crews tries a sunset flip but Stardust counters with a pin for 2.  Crews builds some momentum with kicks and a big splash.  Leaping elbow by Apollo and a standing moonsault. 2 counts for Crews.  Enziguri from Crews and a Spinning Sitdown Powerbomb for the win.

Winner: Apollo Crews

 

Ambrose- Tonight I was supposed to host an edition of the Ambrose Asylum, but I told Shane there wouldn’t be any show.  After being attacked last week I’m not in the mood for fun and games.  Even thought I make a surprisingly good talk show host, I’m not in the mood!  This Sunday I face one of the best wrestlers to step into this ring, this Sunday I face a 6-time World Champion, this Sunday I face Chris Jericho.  Jericho loves to say that he’s the best in the world at what he does, and he likes to say it a lot.  Over the last couple of months, he’s made a good case for himself, but I’m pretty good at what I do, too!  I fight for respect and earn respect!  I don’t do that either!  Jericho likes to complain that things aren’t handed to him and that’s not me either, I get to work, I roll up my sleeves and I make things happen.  From when I clock in to when I clock out, I either punch people in the face or get punched in the face because that is what I do!  I thought I’d show Chris a little of what I do, so Chris lace up your scarf and turn on your Christmas tree jacket and get out here!

Jericho comes out looking confused- You disrespectful stupid idiot.  How dare you call me out, first of all there is no way I’m fighting you in a dump like this.  Oh yeah it’s a dump!  Shut up!  Have you forgotten who you’re dealing with? I am the best in the world at what I do, do you understand what I’m saying to you right now? In case you’re like all these idiots and can’t get it through your brain, I win matches.  I elevate every opponent I step in the ring with, you should be thanking me.  At Sunday I’m going to give you the match of your career, just being in the ring with me boosts your career baby.  In fact, you should get down on your knees and kiss my boots right now.  On second thought don’t, I want you right now to apologize to me.  You heard what I said, look at me while I’m talking to you idiot, apologize to me for disrespecting me right now!  Apologize now!  Or you’re going to be very sorry.

Dean- Apologize?

Jericho- Do it now idiot!

Dean- I’m sorry.  Chris, I am sorry that you paid so much money for those ugly ass shoes.  Chris I’m sorry you’re walking everywhere with a scarf.  I’m sorry about your Bon Jovi haircut.  I’m sorry I’m gonna beat your ass at Payback.  But I’m not sorry about this!

Ambrose attacks Jericho and beats him down then takes him outside the ring.  Ambrose clears off the announce table but Jericho sweeps his legs and Ambrose lands face first on the monitor.  Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho on the announce table.

 

Natalya vs. Emma

Charlotte and Ric come out and are at ringside.  Natty takes down Emma who reverses, and Natty reverses again into an arm drag.  Emma rolls out and when Natty chases Emma sweeps the legs and Natty lands on the side of the ring hard.  Double arm suplex from Emma on the outside.  Back in the ring Emma gets a 2 count.  Emma locks in a Full Nelson.  Emma slams Natalya head first into the post but Natty locks in the Sharpshooter out of nowhere!  Emma taps out.

Winner: Natalya

 

Damien Sandow vs. Baron Corbin

Before the match can start Ziggler attacks Baron from behind.  A ton of refs run in to break it up but Corbin runs away before Ziggler can get his hands on him any more than he had.

Miz and Maryse are in the ring.

Maryse- Now help me welcome my husband your Intercontinental Champion, the Miz!

Miz-  Isn’t she gorgeous?!  This Sunday at WWE Payback I will defend my championship against Cesaro.  It has come to my attention through social media that you people think Cesaro will actually beat me.  I’m appalled by this, not because I’m offended by you people, but what appalls me is you people not seeing the benefit in me being your Intercontinental Champion.

Mayse- Teach them!  They are hungry for your knowledge.

Miz- And I am hungry for you!  *kiss* If you understand anything, understand this.  This is more than a title, more than an accomplishment, this is legendary.  The greatest in our industry have held this title, Cesaro doesn’t deserve it.  You make signs that say Cesaro section, do you think that makes you a rebel? It doesn’t.  I bring this title prestige, but you think you’re empowered by making a sign.  Don’t you think you’re better than that?  Sit there with the nerdy, with the internet troll who pine for the Swiss Superman.  This woman here is what the Miz section looks like.  Need I say–*Cesaro’s music hits*

Cesaro- Miz did you just try and convince the fans to route for you? I think they’re way to educated for that?

Miz- Are you saying this to me?

Maryse- Babe, do it like you do it at home.

Miz- You talkin to me? You talkin to me? I’m the only one here.  Funny how? Do I amuse you?

Cesaro- Actually you do, but the only movie you belong in is Jackass.  You were right about one thing, that title is legendary and some of the best have held it, that’s why I’m going to make sure the credits roll on you being the Intercontinental Champion.

Miz- You have no idea how much this title means to me.  I’m going to make this perfectly clear, do you feel lucky punk?

Cesaro- Go ahead make my day!

Miz and Maryse go to leave but Miz goes for a cheap shot, only to be thrown into the air and hit with a massive uppercut.  Cesaro goes for a big swing but Maryse jumps on Miz to stop it.  Cesaro grabs the IC Championship and holds it up.  He throws it to Miz before leaving.

Backstage AJ walks up to Reigns.  AJ says at Payback he’s taking Roman’s title.  Roman says AJ must have bought ringside tickets for Gallows and Anderson.

 

Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio

Lock up and Reigns comes out with a shoulder tackle.  Del Rio flips Roman onto the apron but Roman hits a headbutt to buy him some space.  Del Rio runs up and hits a kick to the head of Roman as he’s getting back in the ring and sends Roman to the outside.  Del Rio goes after Roman as we head to break.

We return and ADR is in control with a headlock.  Reigns powers out of it but Del Rio kicks Roman in the kidneys to regain control.  Del Rio puts Roman in the corner but Roman fights back.  Del Rio puts Roman right back in the corner and kicks him repeatedly.  Roman with several headbutts.  Quick DDT from Del Rio to buy himself some breathing room.  Del Rio signals the kick but Roman counters with Samoan Drop but ADR slides out of it.  Roman with several leaping clotheslines.  Del Rio gets in the corner but Roman hits the 10 clotheslines.  Alberto rolls out but Roman rolled out and hit a huge drive by kick that sent Del Rio’s head into the steel post.  Del Rio hits a kick to the gut then his big kick to the head. 1-2-NO!  Roman kicks out!  Del Rio puts Roman in the corner and hangs him upside down for the stomp.  Roman fights back and gets out of it.  Roman whips Alberto against the ropes and then follows him and hits a Superman Punch!  Anderson and Gallows music hits and they come out.  ADR rolls up Roman off the distraction but Roman kicks out at 2.  Roman gets up and hits a spear for the win.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Anderson and Gallows attack Roman!  AJ Styles runs out and calls off Anderson and Gallows.  AJ turns around and Roman hits a Superman Punch!  Anderson and Gallows get up on the ringside and Roman fights them off, but Roman turns around into a Phenomenal Forearm.
